Great music video getting into art history

This video is awesome, and the song is not that bad either! I may be a little late on this band because I'm not one to keep up with radio and tv but I'm glad I found it.

Another Clip..

It's interesting to see these styles that were developed in the late 80's and early 90's , styles that influenced most of the cartoons and advertisements we have seen in the past 15 years.

An Interesting Documentary on the Graphic Arts Movement in the 90's

"In the early 1990's a loose-knit group of likeminded outsiders found common ground at a little NYC storefront gallery. Rooted in the DIY (do-it-yourself) subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hip hop & graffiti, they made art that reflected the lifestyles they led. Developing their craft with almost no influence from the "establishment" art world, this group, and the subcultures they sprang from, have now become a movement that has been transforming pop culture."

"Starring a selection of artists who are considered leaders within this culture, Beautiful Losers focuses on the telling of personal stories...speaking to themes of what happens when the outside becomes "in" as it explores the creative ethos connecting these artists and today's youth."

"Featuring Ed Templeton, Barry McGee, Margaret Kilgallen, Jo Jackson, Chris Johanson, Thomas Campbell, Geoff McFetridge, Mike Mills, Stephen Powers, Harmony Korine and Shepard Fairey."

This website has so much interesting art I wanted to post all the pics!  Take a second and check it out, it also provides a lot of links to some other sites with exciting art!  Here's a few from the site:  http://www.okaygreat.com/?tag=sculpture

"Morning Pose" wire sculpture

I stumbled on this artist website and thought his work was pretty cool.  Although simple, his work is an interesting merging of sculpture and drawing.  Makes me want to take 3D again=)

Hi guys, just wanted to share a pbs special with y'all. You may have heard of it already, ART:21 Art in the Twenty-First Century. I personally love art history and found this very interesting. The show takes different concepts in art to talk about in each episode. A handful of successful artist who's work pertains to the subject are interviewed about how and why they do what they do. It is very cool way to discover some new art. I've been watching it on Hulu for free! Hope you take the time to check it out and enjoy it!
